NEW YORK, Nov 19 (Reuters) – Online dating service eHarmony has agreed to create a new website for gays and lesbians as part of a settlement with a gay man in New Jersey, the New Jersey Office of the Attorney General said on Wednesday.
The website will provide a dating service with “male seeking a male” or “female seeking a female” options, the Attorney General’s office said in a statement.
eHarmony said it will launch the new same-sex dating site, named “Compatible Partners,” by March 31.
The settlement was the result of a discrimination complaint filed by Eric McKinley against eHarmony in 2005, which will be dismissed under the settlement agreement.
eHarmony was founded in 2000 by evangelical Christian Dr. Neil Clark Warren and had ties with the influential religious conservative group Focus on the Family.
The New Jersey complaint is not the only legal action to be brought against eHarmony for failing to provide a same-sex option.
In March, lawyers in California brought a lawsuit against the company on behalf of San Francisco resident Linda Carlson, who was denied access to eHarmony because she is gay.
“We believe that this case is now essentially moot, and we’re confident that we will prove that in court,” eHarmony vice president Antone Johnson said in a statement about the California case. http://www.reuters.com/article/bondsNews…

Dating And Christianity?

I am nearing 21 and have only had one serious boyfriend in my life. We broke up quite awhile ago because he did not take his Christian beliefs seriously enough and our personalities weren’t very compatible besides that. I know God wants me to date a Christian and that really is one of the only things I am looking for in a man, but I am struggling in finding any Christian males. I am attending college and am going into Early Childhood Education so there are not many men in my field, also, I tried to get involved with a Christian Campus House, but because I do not live on campus, it is difficult for me to attend the events. I am starting to get upset…Has anyone gone through this, if so, what did you do. Oh…please do not suggest online dating…I am just not too fond of that idea.

Is There Anything Wrong With Looking For A Partner Online Or Personal Column In A Newspaper?

I am a Christian woman, looking for a spouse. I am divorced (his abuse & adultery – I know there are different interpretations on scripture on the subject of divorce)

My Girlfriend Is A Lesbian???

I met my girlfriend two years ago and we were very happy together. However, about four months ago, I found her posted her profile on Myspace, yahoo personals etc. I didn’t mean that I disallowed her to seek friendship online. The point was she said she needed something exciting from girls! She said she was actually a lesbian! (I found the fact by accident)

I was taken aback! What did I do? I was a man, a real man!
Like a storm! I attempted to know more about her. But she refused. She even met her so called MRS Right after she posted her profile on a lesbian dating site called Lesmingle.com. I was driven crazy. I emailed the site requesting them to delete her profile. She knew it and said she wanted to kill me! What can I do? I am a man! I help her to be a lesbian? This can actually kill me!
