Dating And Christianity?

I am nearing 21 and have only had one serious boyfriend in my life. We broke up quite awhile ago because he did not take his Christian beliefs seriously enough and our personalities weren’t very compatible besides that. I know God wants me to date a Christian and that really is one of the only things I am looking for in a man, but I am struggling in finding any Christian males. I am attending college and am going into Early Childhood Education so there are not many men in my field, also, I tried to get involved with a Christian Campus House, but because I do not live on campus, it is difficult for me to attend the events. I am starting to get upset…Has anyone gone through this, if so, what did you do. Oh…please do not suggest online dating…I am just not too fond of that idea.

I too am nearly 21, but have not even had one boyfriend. I’ve had guys ask me but have found it difficult to find that one guy who shares the same beliefs as I do. I believe that God has that one special guy out there for me. The best advice I can give would be to be patient. I mean you are only 21 once. Enjoy your life as it is right at this moment. It will happen.

I would suggest that you find a Non-denominational Church near your living quarters. Attend some of their services and make sure that what they are doing is right in the eyes of GOD. There should be some good people attending there that you can meet with. If not, drop a note to me/us. My wife and I would be glad to find an area Church for you to “check out”. We have a number of young people at our church and a number of them hang out and go out together. This is wonderful for us to see. Christians belong with Christians, they see eye-to-eye and never will have the “normal divorce rates” of the world. I hope you are successful in locating a great Christian man. Have a great week!

It may sound simplistic, but keep talking to God about it.
There are many instances when God does not answer our prayers how and WHEN we want them answered. But trust that He loves you, has your best interests at heart and will give you an answer that will cause you joy.
    1 Peter 5:6-7
6 Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time. 7 Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.

I guess I’m a little spoiled right now because I go to a Christian college and I am surrounded by Christian guys… but next year I am transferring to a state school, so I will be in the same position as you. I would suggest possibly trying to find a church in the area and get involved there. I am not suggesting that you find a church merely to meet guys, but I don’t think there is anything wrong with socializing with those in your church. Good luck!

You just have to make it a prority to go to these events or a student congregation or something.

Hi. I am a 35 years old female Christian. Stay strong and patient in God …He will connect you with the man that is going to make you happy at the right time.
In the mean time, educate yourself, enjoy your precious life and be of service to God. He will take care of you. Have faith :)

This will sound so artificial and others have said it to, but the real answer is prayer. The secret to prayer is to keep your life pure and be patient. But in spite of what all the skeptics say prayer really works and is the answer that God Himself gives for any situation like this.

My suggestion would to get involved in a singles ministry with your church. Although you are against online dating, I’m going to suggest that you google some Christian dating sites anyway, which might be of help.

    Be Patient!
    PRAY!
    Just “be there”.

Maybe God is trying to tell you that he does not want you to date a Christian.

Most college kids aren’t really thinking about religion as sad as that sounds. They are tied up in the moment of drinking, meeting people and sleeping in on all sundays.
