I am 24 year old male and an over the road truck driver. I have been driving for 6 months now. I love my job and couldn’t see myself doing anything else, but I have a problem finding women to date and start an honest relationship. I am not really into the bar or club scene, I’m religious but I don’t go to church (Christian), and I have tried the online dating thing (eHarmony, match.com, and Yahoo! Personals) and I still haven’t found anyone. Is there any other sites or things I can try to meet good women who want a serious relationship?

The harder you look, the less you find
….
. (And we wasted another good 3 months being too afraid to “ruin the friendship” by admitting our feelings for one another LOL).
….Be friendly, open & kind to EVERYBODY and sooner or later you will make friends with the right person!
I started driving OTR when I was 21; I’ll be 27 next month. I’m female, I was single, and I tried the online dating garbage as well. To absolutely no avail.
Trying to keep a new relationship going when one of you is always gone is hard ENOUGH….now try finding a guy who’s comfortable & secure with his girlfriend being OTR all the time?? Never happened. They either just wanted sex & ignored me after the first few times I went back on the road OR they’d always seem to expect that I’d come off the road & find a local job if I ever decided to “settle down”.
Wasn’t too long before I realized I probably needed to find another OTR driver who was compatible with me….it’s such a big part of your lifestyle that it helps to find someone who can relate. Unless you have a reason for not wanting a female companion to be OTR with you, that’s probably your best bet, too.
And before anybody thinks that I had it “easy” while looking for love amongst the unwashed & hairy masses of my fellow drivers…..Because, even a halfway-homely female truck driver would have more than her fair share of “willing & able” male suitors anywhere she goes in the trucking world? Stop & think about half of the drivers you see in any given truckstop & the garbage on the CB. LOL Yeah… It may be a gigantic “dating pool” but far too many people are peeing in it….;)
So I quit worrying about it. Made friends with drivers of all ages, races & sexes….(kept my clothes on LOL)….enjoyed my job & made peace with my “single-ness”. The way I looked at it….if I could find contentment with the path I was on….then sooner or later, I might come across somebody else who’s going in the same direction. But, if I didn’t, at least I was still “content”.
That’s when I met the guy who became my husband….randomly, outside our company’s terminal. He had a funny T-shirt, I complimented him & we struck up a conversation. Found out we grew up in the same town. Same age. Similar childhood experiences. For crying out loud, our mothers were in the SAME weird hippie cult in the 70′s together! For a full YEAR I considered him “just a friend” and didn’t think there was any potential for a “spark”….but we started taking hometime simultaneously & spending more time together, and before I knew it, I was in love…..and so was he
There ARE nice, younger, single women driving trucks out here….they may be a bit of a rarity, but they ARE out here. One of my best friends is just a year younger than me & drives for JB Hunt….she’s single, and as far as I know hasn’t ever dated or so much as slept with anybody in the 4 years she’s been driving. Keep an eye out for a blonde chick with glasses in a JB truck
Good luck!!
well i dated a trucker for a year and i just couldn’t handle the traveling and if i stayed home the heartbreaking goodbyes and the short times of him home have you tried doing local trucking so that u can be on a week off a week ? also try yahoo chat-rooms make friends there in your local rooms then move from there or even just advertise yourself over cb
Are there any women around your job? If there are try spending time around them. And if you think there ugly just give them a chance cuz I found my perfect match once when I thought this guy was a nerd and now we are together cuz i gave him a chance. If there arent any women around were you work try going places where there ARE women around. Good Luck!
Id suggest myspace but im guessing you might already have one since majority of younger ppl do. That helps to find people in your area, i prefer using that over the match.com/yahoo personals. I used the same things but i ended up married from one of them.
dont do anything dont worry about it, loves finds you when u least expect it, and beleve it or not its true
i guarantee god will drop off a chick at a truck stop or gas station just for you
