I’m trying to access some kind of marriage record database but all the ones I’ve come across require you to pay. Does anyone know where I can find the MARIAGE DATE on someone? I need a site that has info available for free.

This site has some marriage records onlinehttp://www.genwed.com/
This will NOT have all of the marriage records online available. I do know of other sites where marriage records are available. There are too many to list and you appear to be looking for a specific place. If you would list the place, it would help us to help you.
Blessings and I hope you are able to find what you are looking for.
Marriage records are public information. What that does not mean, is that there is any legal requirement that they be online. Thus, one county might choose to computerize their records, and other county does not. It is simply a random thing.
You did not indicate if you are looking for a recent marriage (living persons) or historical, or any location. One place that often has marriage records are the usgenweb county pages, which are free and run by volunteers. Again… it is hit and miss, and often limited to certain date ranges.
If you do know the county name… use google, put in the county name and the word genweb, to come up with the site for that county. Even when they don’t have the records themselves, they often include specifics as to where they are, and the procedure for contacting.
If you know the city and state where the marriage took place, you can go to the some State’s websites. Or, you can go to rootweb.com.
Illinois has a data base for genealogists looking for military, marriage and death.
make a myspace page and advertise yourself!
You could try the Latter Day Saints website ( http://www.familysearch.org ) which lists extractions made by the mormons.
Also, there is a site ( http://www.worldconnect.rootsweb.com ) which contains family trees from individual researchers and made available for free.
a third site, if the marriage was in England, is one that has been growing for a number of years ( freebmd.rootsweb.com). This is an extraction of the Birth, Marriage, and death records from the English Vital Statistics office, and is being transcribed by volunteers (a lot of the records have been double transcribed at this time). There are still records to be transcribed, so this site is growing daily.
if its in the uk i can do it for you
