The main problem with those sites is a very disproportional ratio of men to women… I have a female friend (of average attractiveness) who is on match and she says she receives dozens of winks and letters every day… so many that she cant keep up with it… If you are a guy and you signed up for one of those – you are screwed because the competition is fierce… Your expensive dinner will not yield any return on investment… Women there feel like little girls in a candy store! They never had so much attention from men in their life and they feel curious about each guy and of course an expensive dinner with a new guy every night sounds too good to pass up… I did it, but I did it smart… I played my cards well… I pretended that I am a wealthy european royalty who wants to move to America and is looking for a wife… I told them I was in the country for only 2 weeks… So this way I was a “supercatch” and it was THEM who were trying to impress me and get me into bed in hopes I would choose them… But you have to have your story planned to the smallest details, with photos, fake accent, business cards, etc. Nothing feels better than beating golddiggers in their own game!

I’d never use a dating site myself, but other people can if they want to. I have a hard time believing that these sites really do produce a high rate of lasting relationships.

Eharmony’s goal is marriage so they don’t allow gays to participate. I don’t think a dating site should soley focus on marriage, they should focus on setting up people that want to be happy, whether that be marriage, long term relationship, or just a casual fling. I don’t like Eharmony even though I’ve never used it, not have I used Match.com, and I don’t know much about that one so I won’t comment on it.

Match.com is feminist occupied territory.
eHarmony is a tool of Neil Clark Warren and his Religious Right buddies. The ads and commercials give me the creeps.
I recommend neither site for MRAs.

Yes, they must feel like “little girls in candy stores.” After all, they can have their pick of guys like Ronnie.
I suppose it’s fine, I know it works for people. I always preferred meeting someone through a network of friends, through school or work. I never liked the idea of hooking up just to hook up. I wanted to have a common interest and know the same people.

I have no problem with it…I met my husband at a church function, though, 15 years ago yesterday.
If that’s how you want to meet people, your dime, go for it.
