I had filed online and chose direct deposit. According to the dates on the irs web site I should have recieved my stimulus package already. I did have to fill out an amendment, I believe its called a 1040X. It has already been recieved by the IRS though along with what I had to pay back. Would filing an amendment mean that I will get my refund by check? I don’t think it would but am now unsure since we have not recieved a refund yet. Please help

I have also been looking for my payment today. My last two digits fell in the criteria for payment on or before May 9th, which is today. I did use an online Tax preparer, whether it was TaxAct, TaxCut, or another site, I can’t remember right off my head, but I know for sure it was not H&R Block. I opted for my refund to be Direct Deposited into my Savings Account, and have already received my refund, more than a month ago. I do not see any other reason why I don’t have my stimulus payment, but both my father and I are having the same problem not getting it. I personally think it’s a shame that this is the situation if it’s a problem on the IRS’s end. These payments are being made to stimulate the economy and alot of poor people, such as myself, are banking on these payments. If I don’t receive it soon, I will be late on a finance payment. Alot of economic stimulation that is… I hope this question gets resolved by someone well informed and I can stop worrying.
If you used the H&R block simple pay…you will be receiving a paper check….H&R block simple pay account setup, was a temporary bank account that the IRS will not use for direct deposit of the stimulus checks…I just found this out from the H&R web site this week….Turbo tax user’s may also have their checks mailed to them instead of direct deposit.

i used h&r block free file, through the irs website. i didn’t have to pay any fees and i chose direct deposit…. i haven’t seen a refund yet… i believe im supposed to get it today. does any one know if its supposed to be there in the morning or can it be anytime today through tomorrow???
I am having a similar problem and from what I have read…if you filed an amendment you will receive your stimulus check via mail instead of direct deposit.
I’m looking for mine too. It should be here today but i just checked the web site and it said to alow up to two weeks to recive it .
Filing an amended return will delay your rebate if it starts processing before your rebate is sent.
