I honestly think that people can find love no matter how far away they are – I have some friends that are now together that didn’t meet in person for a very long time but they knew that they were the ones for each other and when the time came they moved together – one was in Hong Kong and the other in the UK. They ended up moving to Hong Kong if you’re interested!
It works for some and not for others, depends on what you are really looking for as you said. If it is all just about the physical side though then you may as well go to the local bar… for a true companion you can turn to I don’t think distance matters – if this companion then develops into more then of course the gap would need to be shortened but that can come with time.
