What Are Some Alternatives To Meeting Guys Online?

I’m not out yet, and the only way I know how to meet guys is through gay dating/hookup sites. I’ve talked to some guys who seem to have shown genuine interest at first (online)… but it seems like I always end up getting ignored or being forgotten in the end. All this letdown and I’m beginning to despair of ever finding a guy who’s into more than one night stands and shows a real interest in me… not even as a potential boyfriend but just as a person. I guess I’d just like to know if anyone else has had the same sort of experience and also if anyone might be able to suggest other (better) ways to meet guys that’d be practical for someone in my situation.
