Would You Ever Consider Dating Someone You Met Online?

I talk to this amazing guy almost daily and he has the best sense of humor and he is so sweet but this still is online and I just got out of a relationship. It wouldn’t be like me to date someone that I met online but he is really extremley tempting.
Okay then not really dating exactly but is it stupid to want to want to meet him IRL?
How can you make sure it’s going to be safe, what are some tips? I totally trust him but in a way I don’t want to be that trusting, I just don’t know what to do!! I really want to meet him and see if anythings there for us.

What Online Dating Sites Would Most Consider The Most Reputable?

I previously used match.com to online date and I am older and the guy I got turned out to be crazy. I know that is being judgemental but that was just my opinion. I have also used eharmony and have been with this guy for two years and now I am having my doubts about him. Just wondering of all the online dating sites which ones would have the more decent guys.
