I met my partner on-line. I admit, I was completely skeptical going in to the on-line experience. I had one terrible date, one so-so date and then I met my partner and fell head over heels in love. We’re celebrating our one year anniversary this month. So far, so very good. We both had bad experiences before we met but if we hadn’t persevered…..
I’d say it’s up to you to refine your search, switch to e-harmony or find another method of meeting singles. There’s good and bad in everything…. Just be patient and truthful.

I recently started to try online dating services. The guys who pursue me seem ok at first, but as we talk, I find out that they have serious problems. I expected pervs (ran into a few), people on the rebound, men on the “down low”, or people who were actually married, but not people who had been to jail. One guy was on probation and was subsequently fired from his job for threatening his co-worker with a weapon. Another guy contacted me abducted his kids and took them to Nigeria and ended up going to jail for it. (I did a background check, he didn’t tell me. Needless to say I’ve not contact him back.) Should I go to a professional photographer or just get a friend to take my picture? I’m a transwoman – so I think there is an upside and downside to each approach. Professional pix – upside, it will look good / downside – the viewer will think that it is “doctored”. Picture done by a friend – upside – legitmate and not “doctored” / downside – not as good b/c of lighting, etc. Any experience/advice? |
