Looking For English Language Expat Info In Tokyo, Japan?

I recently relocated to Tokyo, Japan from New York city and I have
been trying to find English language web resources similar to what I used on a regular basis in New York. I often used craigslist to find activities and for online dating in New York and haven’t been able to find a similar English language site with a large user base in Tokyo. I’ve found sites but they have very small user bases. What I am looking for is where on the web I can connect with the English speaking expat community to meet people, find dates, find a sports team/league similar to www.zogsports.com, find a running group similar to New York Road Runners http://www.nyrrc.org/ and where I can find
classified ads for things like buying a used bicycle.

What Is The Best Online Dating Site For Someone Looking For A Real Relationship?

I have tried match.com which was OK. I’m looking to try again preferably from a different website. However, I am looking for something more long term rather than random hookups (i.e. craigslist.org). I am OK with paying some money as I think people on those sites are more serious about finding someone. I am not religious at all so no thanks to eharmony.com or jdate.com. Looking For Tips About Online Dating..how Do You Know If A Person Is Who They Say They Are?

I have visited two dating websites, chatted with quite a few, been proposed to by a priest, asked by two guys if they could borrow money, and noted one in particular whose profile, messages and emails sound scripted, as if they copied them from someone else, used them on someone else and contradicts previous comments. One guy gave me a phone number to call which I did but then he didn’t want to talk, preferring to instant message once he got home. I would be interested to know if other women have experienced this, and some tips for finding out if these guys are for real. I have met one who sounds wonderful but is he too good to be true?
