Useless News Articles Online That No One Agrees With. Why?

Many news sites and other sites having added in recent years the option of commenting and sharing your views on a particular article. Before this, I would read an article, think it was stupid or grossly inaccurate and move on. Now though, I see that the MAJORITY of people commenting on an article hate it as much as I do yet they continue to allow comments. CNN for example will post an article on dating tips or health care etc and almost everyone thinks it is complete trash. Do they not READ any of these comments? This shows how much the media lies. They say , 90% of Americans polled feel this way yet the comments show the opposite is true. What are your thoughts? Here is a link to a trivial article with a picture of a celeb on TMZ to show my point. NO ONE thinks this ugly girl is ‘hot’. Shouldn’t they be embarrassed to post something NO ONE likes?

What Is The Best (free) Way To Look Up (online) Major News Stories Or Events That Took Place On Any Given Day?

For example, if I wanted to find out what happened on this exact date a year ago, where would I go? Or if I wanted to know about the major news stories on the day that I was born? There’s got to be a free user-friendly site, but I don’t know of one.

The Most Respectable, Trustworthy, And Reliable News Source?

I have chosen 15 news sources. Now I have to decide which top 3 new sources I am going to to use to gather news information.I am a teacher and need to keep my students informed on all topics. The news sources have to be the most factual, most intelligent, non-biased, and most well-informed news.
Again I have to keep my students informed and up-to-date on all topics and have to make sure my information is ACCURATE and FACTUAL.
(No bs, no fluff.) I need accurate news.
I know all news sources are biased to a certain degree. Some more heavily than others. But I need the least biased and most respected new source so at least I know what I am talking and not look clueless when lecturing to my highschool students.
I have chosen: PBS, NPR, CNN, FOX News, BBC, Drudge Report, NPR, Christian Science Monitor, AP, Reuters, The Economist, MSNBC, C-SPAN, New York Times, and Wall St Journal.
Im looking for online news. I just want basic, fresh, intellient, factual, up to date new coverage daily. It has to be respectable news source.
My top 3 new sources that I am considering are: REUTERS, Associated Press, and Christian Science Monitor.
What are your top 3 reliable and honest new sources? Which would you choose if you had to lecture a class on all subject areas? I need to be very well informed.
Thanks.
