With the exception of those that are really busy and have professional careers and are always on the go. Aside from that, I think it screams desperation. I have a friend who always goes on dates with people from online and I think she comes off as desperate.

I met my husband on a singles chat line. We dated for a year and a half and we have been married for 4 years now. Use all the precautions you would normally use when getting to know someone (meet in a public place the first few times you see each other, etc.). It also doesn’t hurt to conduct a criminal background search on someone that you are thinking about dating seriously, and they are relatively inexpensive. I am 52 and my husband is 49. I met a nice man in mid July. I found him on the dating site Plenty of Fish. We been dating since we met. I see him approximately every 1-2 weeks. He tells me he likes me a lot. He used to call me 2-3 times daily. Now, he calls me 2-3 times per week. I also like him a lot. He is the silent type, doesn’t say much about himself. I found out he kept his Plenty of Fish account active. I also know that he checks that account regularly. I wonder why he still has an active account on a dating site. I don’t want to be naive and stupid as it is clearly a sign that I am not the ONE. That hurts me quite a bit. I am also out of touch with dating in 2009. For those of you with experience with online dating web site, I would like to get your opinion. What do you think is going on? I enjoy traveling, teaching and living in many countires. I would like to locate a life partner and possibly marriage to do this with. Is there a good web site to meet people with the same interests and goals? Whether if you have or not, can you tell me why? I want to join a dating site but am afraid of what’s out there. I would like to meet a quality person for a long term relationship. Any suggestions on ones you’d recommend? Am in Los Angeles if that makes a difference. I had put up a nice one on Craigslist but got some immature responses. My friend(a guy) is dating another guy online he is 17 and in america the other guy is 22 in Japan. Which countries age of consent do they use? Japan is 13 (even for gay couples in Tokyo) and america is 18 in most areas. |
