Meeting A Guy In Person After Meeting Online? Ways To Be Safe?

Anyone have any advise about meeting a guy in person that you met online?
We’ve been talking for about 4 months now and I think I’d actually like to meet him. But what can I do to make sure I’m safe doing it?
I’m 19.8 lol, he’s 22. I have a car and will meet him for dinner at a public place. I don’t feel comfortable telling my parents or friends what I’m doing but I’ll let my roommate know where I’m going and the guys name, phone number and i have a few pictures of him i’ll leave up on my laptop… Anything else I can do?
And I don’t want to be paranoid but I’d like to meet him and I want to be safe doing it…
Any tips about safety would be great!! As well as tips on first dates… I’d been with the same guy for 4 years before this so I really don’t have any dating experience…

Mum: Is Online Dating Safe?

I am 34 and have been single for 5 years this xmas and many of my friends are telling me to try online dating. I have looked at a few sites but they are expensive and money is tight, Im really worried that if I try the free sites it will be something dodgy and I have my two girls to think about. Most days im happy with life but other days I feel lonely and think ill always be alone. I dont want to end up an old lady who has never found that someone special. What should I do?

Are Online Dating Generally Safe? Scandinavians Most Specially?

would it be safe to say that only a small percentage of people who look for love over the internet are bad?
For example, like most mid age men, who are twice divorced, and who looks for love over the internet, but claimed they used to be officials of christian churches in northern europe, would you consider them generally safe? (considering scandinavians are generally nice and safe people)?
Bec some people are hard to assess and interpret, so someone might be a wolf in sheep clothing. and even when u have met them personally, and have spent a generally long time with them, it is possible that they turn out to be someone to be feared (???)
or if they are nice and religious and acts as volunteers of organizations, we can believe them???
