If You Were Single, Would You Ever Try Online Dating?

I don’t mean you date someone only on the Internet, I mean you meet someone online through a dating site (ie. match.com, americansingles.com).

How To Cope With Being Single & Childless?

A few of my friends & I are at the point in our lives where we really, really want marriage & kids. However, apparently it’s not our time for that stage yet. But it’s getting more and more frustrating for us to deal with–when we see all our other friends getting married and having babies. I’ve managed to find ways to get my ‘kid fix’ by volunteering and so forth. But, any suggestions on how not to be so down on being single? there just aren’t any prospects out there for any of us—at least none that live close by. so please don’t suggest online dating–we’ve all tried that and discovered that it’s not for us. we need people who we can actually see once in a while! Any help/tips are appreciated.

How Does A Single Black Woman Get A Date These Days?

I’m 25 and I’ve never had a kiss, let alone a boyfriend. I live in a very small city where the guys just aren’t interested in and/or attracted to black women, particularly those that are dark-complected like myself. I’m smart, friendly, I have a nice figure, and I always get compliments on my smile.
I don’t like the bar scene, but I go to many professional functions. I’ve tried online dating, but most guys don’t even list black women in their preferences. And the few guys that respond are usually your typical no job baby momma types complete with the shiny grill or they’re much older, which I’m not really for.
I’ve been told that it takes time, but I’m almost thirty! What should I do? Am I too picky? Are men intimidated? am I just not attractive enough to even be approached?

Boyfriend Says He’s Single?

I’m probably just a little paranoid, but here goes. I’m “dating” a guy through a long-distance relationship. We met each other online, discovered feelings for each other, and he asked if I’d like a relationship with him. We agreed to take it slow. I said yes, and we plan on meeting sometime.
Well, today I saw a web site of his. It lists him as single (it’s not a dating site or anything though). However, this kind of annoys me and makes me paranoid that he might not be as into it as I thought he was. Should I be concerned? Should I slow my feelings down for him to make sure he really likes me? Thanks.

The Problem With Single Mothers
Doctor:
I just read the article “Read and Heed” on your website concerning dating a single mom.
It seems to be saying dating a single mom is a terrible thing and men should keep away at all costs. If a man is truly in love with a woman, he will accept the children just to be with her. Besides, the children will eventually grow up and move out of the house (hopefully) and then the relationship can continue on.
Finding someone you want to spend the rest of your life with is not all that easy. For a man to let go of a woman just because she has kids is a shame, he may be the one missing out on something great. Sure there would be challenges, but I think two adults who love each other can figure out something to make it work.I guess I’m just trying to say not to completely di-
