So on Saturday night i have a date with a guy i met online. I actually met him using yahoo answers. We have been talking on and off on AIM for a few months. During that time mentioned where he worked. He also gave me his myspace. He looks like a good guy. Well about 2 days ago our conversation -DRASTICALLY- picked up. We’ve been talking on the phone until the early mornings. And were meeting face to face for the first time saturday.
Now i know that it is always risky meeting people online. Well whenever i call him and he cant pick up it goes to his voicemail and he mentions where he works in his voice mail. I made him take a picture 2 days ago with the current date written in multicolors so i know that he matched the myspace pictures. Were going places really close to my house. I know every road were going to take and my friends will be texting me throughout the date to make sure nothing goes wrong.
Although im not out to my parents, so they think im going out with friends.

Meeting Someone I Met Online For The First Time? Tips Anyone?

I’m meeting someone I met online for the first time next weekend. He lives in MS and I live in LA. He is traveling almost 3 hours to see me. I had planned for us to go to dinner at one of my favorite restaurants and then maybe see a movie on Friday night. My date, when recently discussing our plans, suggested some other things we could do on Saturday night and if he can get out of a commitment that he has on Sunday, then things we could do then too. Does he think he’s staying with me for the whole entire weekend? I have not offered him to stay at my house, and I certainly would not feel comfortable having someone I just met staying there anyways. I just don’t know how to approach this. He’s a nice enough guy, and although we have not been talking too long, we’ve really hit it off and have been talking on the phone every night since. We’re both still in college, so him staying in a hotel when he came down here could would be financially hard on him. I guess I just need to know how y’all would go about discussing this topic? I don’t mind him coming for the entire weekend but I don’t think he should stay with me.

I talk to this amazing guy almost daily and he has the best sense of humor and he is so sweet but this still is online and I just got out of a relationship. It wouldn’t be like me to date someone that I met online but he is really extremley tempting.
Okay then not really dating exactly but is it stupid to want to want to meet him IRL?

I’m 28 (male) and have a profile setup with the online dating service – match.com. They have several methods of communication available. One is what’s called a “flirt” (otherwise known as a sort of an ice breaker). Basically, you send one to a person and hope they respond. There are quite a few different flirts available (by category of humor, serious, movies lines, etc.) So, yesterday (Saturday, 11/7) at about 1:30 pm, I found a girl (26 yrs. old) who I was interested in getting in touch with, and decided to send her one of these flirts. The one that I sent her read as, “It seems we have a lot in common. Let me know if you feel the same way”. (I felt we did, so I thought it would be reasonable to send). Long story short, about 35 minutes later she responded with, “Hey there, how’s it going?” I responded with, “Hi there, it’s going great! Are you having a good weekend so far?” Was this nosey, weird or perhaps just the wrong thing to say to someone you don’t know? I thought it was being thoughtful, but maybe it didn’t come off as such. Nonetheless, she never responded back and it’s apparently not because she’s busy. I happened to see her profile as being “online” while doing a regular profile search of women in my age range. Just want to know so that I avoid saying this in the future. Thanks!

1) Don’t limit your choices by insisting on things that aren’t really necessary. Ex: “Looking for someone to go fishing with.”
2) Reveal some things about yourself, but not so much about yourself that you may be ruled out.
3) This isn’t politically correct to say, but if you have a good job, then make sure you mention it. Not every woman is a gold digger, but it doesn’t hurt to show that you have some financial stability.

So here’s my story. I’m 19 going on 20 and currently finishing my junior year in college. I’m quite sick of dead end college relationships.
For starters most people that go to my school live too far away from my hometown for anything serious to ever happen.
Secondly, all the girls are dead ends. Either you meet them somewhere and take them on a date which goes well (and yes…I know what a bad date is like) and then you follow up and they never return your call. Or relationships that just plain don’t last because it’s blatantly obvious they just want to screw around with other guys and they cover it up with the lame excuse “it’s not you, it’s me”.
I know for a fact it’s not an attraction issue. Not to toot my own horn, but many girls have told me I was hot/cute/etc and some have even approached me at parties and such. I just get so annoying when I see couple on campus and can’t figure out how the hell they can be so lucky.
