I ordered something on eBay and it was shipped yesterday (3-31) via FedEx Kinkos. Online the tracking says “Mar 31, 2008 4:08 AM Package data transmitted to FedEx.” It is being shipped from a city 4 hours away and the Delivery Date is today (April 1). I called FedEx this morning and the customer service agent told me pretty much what the web site said. From experience, will I get it today or was there a mistake?

I’m 28 (male) and have a profile setup with the online dating service – match.com. They have several methods of communication available. One is what’s called a “flirt” (otherwise known as a sort of an ice breaker). Basically, you send one to a person and hope they respond. There are quite a few different flirts available (by category of humor, serious, movies lines, etc.) So, yesterday (Saturday, 11/7) at about 1:30 pm, I found a girl (26 yrs. old) who I was interested in getting in touch with, and decided to send her one of these flirts. The one that I sent her read as, “It seems we have a lot in common. Let me know if you feel the same way”. (I felt we did, so I thought it would be reasonable to send). Long story short, about 35 minutes later she responded with, “Hey there, how’s it going?” I responded with, “Hi there, it’s going great! Are you having a good weekend so far?” Was this nosey, weird or perhaps just the wrong thing to say to someone you don’t know? I thought it was being thoughtful, but maybe it didn’t come off as such. Nonetheless, she never responded back and it’s apparently not because she’s busy. I happened to see her profile as being “online” while doing a regular profile search of women in my age range. Just want to know so that I avoid saying this in the future. Thanks! In other words, does it work or have women had bad experiences through online dating (such as misrepresentation, men lying about their marital status, just a lot of one time only dates etc.) Ok, heres the deal. I met this girl last week, through the free online dating service plentyoffish.com. She wants to meet in person. I have talked to her online and on the phone, and she seems okay. She lives out of my state, but only a half hour drive away. The strange things is that she says she is 34 lives with her parents does drive, but has no access to a car. I guess I would have to come to her parents house and pick her up and go out somewhere if I decide to meet her. When I have met potential dates before it has always been in public places, where we both brought our own transportation. Since it is the gentlemen thing to do, I will drive with a girl who I met in person before on a date, since I know a little bit more about them. But this situation just seems awkward and uncomfortable for me. I am not sure if I should meet her this way or not. This where I think dating sites are just not cracked up to what they claim and definetly not worth what they charge! |
