Should Online Dating Services That Charge You For Using Their Services Be Considered Legal Prostitution?

Online dating services like Yahoo personals and eHarmony charge you a fee for using the service they provide, however, you can sign up and search and create profiles for free. When you want to hook up with a profile, you then have to pay to become a member. Is this not unlike being a pimp? A pimp provides the prostitute, you can look for free, but you have to pay to make contact. If the government allows paid online dating, then why not allow prostitution? Remember, the reason most people are looking to date is so that they can have sex. Even if you just want companionship with no sex, you still have to pay. Why the double standard? If you’re going to allow online dating, then prostitution should be allowed. Your thoughts/answers please?

I Need Help Finding An Online Dating Site That My Ex Won’t Be Using?

I have a difficult situation – I had a very bad breakup almost a year ago with a guy I went to university with. He abused me emotionally, and once psychially. I haven’t had any dates since him, and I withdrew from school because of the stress he was causing me. I am very bored because I don’t know anyone in the neighbourhood who’s my own age, and my friends are too busy. The only option for socializing is the Internet, but I don’t want to go to a site where my ex won’t be. I know he’s on PlentyOfFish.com, and I thought the site was kind of lame and immature. I want a site where I can meet people my own age and possibly get dates, but I don’t want a site where people rate pictures of each other or a site that’s only focused on sex. I tried Lavalife, and hated it. Can anyone recommend a free dating or social networking site with people 18 – 25 in Canada, college/university students and with intelligent message boards and a large porportion of males? Please help!!

Some One Online Is Using My Picture On A Website. How Can I Get It Removed?

Recently one of my friends told me that some one online has posted my pictures to a gay dating site. I’ve contacted the site moderators four times to get my pictures removed from the site, sending them my own pictures of me holding a piece of paper with what they wanted on it to prove that it was me and the person on the dating site is using my identity. They have not responded back and the profile is still on the website. How can I get this removed from their site since aparantly they do not care about protecting the identity and reputation of victems of situations such as this?

Is There A Cheap/free Way To Find If My Girlfriend Is Using An Online Dating Service?

Arguing….things have gotten physical with her. She began with the hitting and sometimes self inflicted blows to the head (into wall e.c.t.). It started by me trying to prevent her from hurting herself, then led to me having to defend myself. (She threw things, knives, cut her self).
She is a great woman….done more for me then anyone else and knows everything about me. But after the physical stuff and even before I just cant shake the feeling that there is something going on. She has little or no interest in sex with me (she says she has no interest in sex period but at 22 I find it hard to beleive).
She has alwyas prefered guy friends to girls, and used to talk to ALL of her ex BF’s. I know she set up one online date thing but never finished..(prolly cause of $$)
How can I find out? Where can I go that is FREE or very cheap to find out this sort of thing?
I have always been parinoid I can admit that….but I am finding signs without looking.
Help?

Do You Have Any Experience Of Using An Online Dating Site? Which Site? Was It A Good Or Bad Experience?

I’m a member of OKCupid which is a free online dating site which works via matching personalities through the amount of questions you answer. I’ve met numerous people via this site and have had a year long relationship with one of them.
With the exception of my ex boyfriend, all but one person I’ve met via this site (about 6 people) has failed to contact me after the first meeting. In some cases it was obvious that there was never going to be a second ‘date’, yet in the other cases these were guys that I got on really well with (no awkward gaps in conversation and a generally nice day/evening).
My profile is up to date and has relatively recent photos on there (so they know what I look like before meeting)… I should also point out that there’s never any physical contact – just a handshake or friendly hug so it’s not as if they have sex with me and then disappear. I also pay my way – getting in the first coffees and taking turns.
Anyone have experience of online dating? Am I encountering more time wasters as this is a free site? Is the ‘disappearing’ thing common? What’s your story?
Thanks in advance :)
