Online dating is a crapshoot at best. Most of the ones I’ve found so far let you join for free to “browse their members”. As soon as you’ve joined, your profile is “viewed” by potential candidates and some “send you messages” to get you to log in and pay to read these messages.
Of course, what’s really happening is they hook you with the free browsing, then bots send you messages to get you to pay for their service. The only loser in this scam is you, having dumped money into this boiler-room operation…
You get what you pay for……is all too true.
Been to several dating sites – and bottom line is that if it’s free then there is a higher chance of meeting weirdos or guys who just want to get into your pants. If they can’t shell out $25 to pay for a subscription, what makes you think they would want to spend anything on you?
Trust me, the difference between guys on Lavalife and guys on PlentyofFish is vast.
I have a pretty good idea what both sides are like, Free sites suck because there is no sense of commitment to the process since its free. I’ve dabbled in free sites and never had any success and now that I’m on eHarmony I feel pride to know that I’m taking an active role in the process and the people I’m being matched with are as well.

These are free. But like any dating site…find out how long a potential mate has been on it. The longer that person is on a site the higher the warning I give. It’s generally for a reason. Either too much emotional baggage or clinically insane. The key to a successful result is going after the new members first and trying to find a good one quickly. And don’t waste your time dating just to date. Define your search based on qualities that are important to you.
Best of luck.
I agree with Peter all the men I have met on-line have been weirdos and it always obvious why they are single…..and be aware that alott of married men get on there just to find a mistress and often don’t tell they are married until its to late….I met one that was a woman beater and one that was wanted in two states..you live you learn
Honestly online dating websites suck. If you really want to try 1 out, check out Plentyoffish.com, but in all honesty, from my experience I have found that online dating has its own game that you must play in order to succeed. Plus all the women I met online turned out to be total psychos who you could figure out fairly quickly why they were single and looking lol
Online dating = stupid idea.
