What Should I Type If I C A Girl I’m Interested In On An Online Dating Site?

I’ve never asked a girl out before but I want to try dating. So I went to the highest rated online dating site www.okcupid.com and answered a bunch of questions and it matched me perfectly with 2 girls. I decided to message one of them but I hit the same problem I have when trying to date in real life. I have no experience talking to women. Well I can talk to them as a coworker or as a friend but I don’t even have a vague idea about what to say to them as like a first line. I’m 23 and have absolutely no dating experience whatsoever. I wish I had asked this question before I posted my first message (And indecently the first advance on the opposite sex since middle school) but here is what I sent her:
I’m kind of new to this whole online matching thing but I noticed we have a lot in common. And the things we didn’t have in common were things I wish we did. (i wish I knew Japanese) So you know massage me back and we can talk or something.
P.S. Sorry if the message is lame. Its the first time I’ve been on a site like this so I really didn’t know what to say. lol
I need to know SPECIFICALLY what is write or wrong with this message. Also can someone give me an example of a good first message. None of that “be yourself” crap. I know that already. I just have no idea what I should type to a person the first time.
Plz be specific if you can.

that message was ok. if i was sending a message id say something like “hey, my name is ……. and i noticed we have a lot in common. it would be really nice to get to know you, you seem like a really nice person. hope you get back to me.” or at least maybe something like that. and look at her picture and pick out some things and add in some compliments about her in the email.

well try talking about something she is interested in. Ask her what kind of music she likes and try to relate. ask her what she does in spare time.

First of all, NEVER admit that “you’re new at dating.” No woman wants a dude fresh out of diapers. Your level of confidence in yourself has to be like a fellow who has the power to “make things happen” for his life, OK? Second, make sure you have the spell check feature on. You just told her that she could massage you back. That looks like you’re wanting her to “massage your back…” and “write” is supposed to be “right.” Im sure that spelling ought to be something that should be not that important, but remember… you’re chosing to date or at least communicate ONLINE, where folks have to rely upon your texts and messages to kind of learn what type of person you are.
Finally, you said you can talk to women who are co-workers and friends, then I suggest you try to communicate with these online dating women in the same way!! The one thing that drives women crazy is a guy who doesn’t fall all over himself trying to “pick her up.” She will eventually notice that you havent really tried any serious flirting or pick up lines, and she will eventually “lead the way” for you… I know, because I did that once. There was a fellow who was quite a gentleman, and eventually he tempted me to be the fresh one, first! LOL! When she does initiate the flirts, respond with equal interest, Romeo! LOL! Good luck, you’ll be just fine.
