Meeting people online at your age is a dangerous proposition, since it’s too easy to pretend to be someone else or some other age.
Being “out” doesn’t necessarily mean shouting it from the rooftops for all to hear. Confiding in a close friend is a step in the right direction. Make as many friends as you can and don’t worry about orientation. The closer you get to each other, the easier it will be to find someone of a like disposition to confide in each other.
In any case, you can survive without romance and sex for the time being, but not without a support group of friends.
