Where Can I Find Someone’s Date Of Birth Online For Free?

I need to find out when someone’s birthday is. They were born in the UK and still live in the UK, and they are still alive! I’ve tried Google but can’t seem to find a site that gives me this information – mostly I came across ancestry sites.
Can you help please? I’d be most grateful if you can! Many thanks.

  1. You can do your search for free on http://www.ancestry.co.uk
there is the 1837-1983 section &1984-2004 there are no indices for the later years though, but you can do the search for free. It only gives the birth year and the quarter they were born in not the actual date, it gives the mums maiden name for those born after 1911, and always gives a volume and page number these are numbers given for on-line orders mainly. Hope this helps good luck.

  2. Here in the US, you have to pay for a lot of information that should be free.
Instead of Google try the phone directory for the area your relative lives. Even if they’re not actually listed, it may cross-ref to a certain amount of census information.
Often you can find other relatives that have researched and posted family trees on the Internet. You can search the genealogy sites for your relative’s name and it will bring up links to trees. I’m not sure of the international scope of some the sites below, but they may be worth trying (some of them require a fee for deeper research, but often you can glean quite a bit for free).
You have to use caution, though:
–Make sure the link is actually a relative, that may sound obvious, but it can really throw you for a loop.
–From my personal experience … I found a very distant relative doing research that was quite messed up. I emailed him the corrections. Not only did he refuse to make the corrections he posted my additional info back-a**wards!! All of my Mom’s sisters are alive, he posted them as all dead! Then posted ME as the reference. That steamed up the entire maternal side! :-D
To wrap up, whatever you find — be sure to double check your information.
    Good luck !!

  3. Electrol Register is where you can find out info like that but you will have to pay for it. However if they are still alive you will have to answer a lot of questions as they will want to know why you want that information due to fraud

  4. Would you want anyone knowing about your personal information from the net?
Such stuff is therefore difficult to obtain and rightly so.

  5. It would likely be a family tree, and even then, it is customary (and good manners) not to upload data on living people without their permission. Free BMD http://www.freebmd.org.uk/cgi/search.pl so far only has births up to about 1912. For more recent BMD data online you’d have to go to The Genealogist http://www.thegenealogist.co.uk/ (there is a fee). Many people would love to have access to this data, especially free of charge, but many living people aren’t so keen, for confidentiality reasons. SOME local authorities have put BMD’s online, I found my own children listed, and I wasn’t happy about it. Ultimately, if you can find this person in the telephone directory the best thing to do is call and ask them.
