Web pages like yahoo, my bank’s web site, and a few others load real fast without problems. However, when I try to go to my school’s online course web site it takes a long time to load up and when I go to places like cnn.com, beckettmedia, it takes a long time to load on them, too. I tried restoring my computer to an earlier date, when there was no problem, but now that problem is there. Any suggestions?
Hi Luhvley,
It is the web site or the routing required to get there. They get overloaded for the traffic they are handling. Yahoo, for example, sometimes has traffic issues and almost becomes unresponsive.
If you want to check your speed try DSL reports. Go here and select “Tools” http://www.dslreports.com/
It you try a couple test sites you will see a difference in speed between you and them. That is perfectly normal.

No it’s the site some sites require higher bandwith than others thats all so ur kool…
Some sites are hosted on a fast line thus it will load fast where other ate hosted with slow lines… schools like to host there websites on slow lines… also take not that the amount of bandwidth available is dependant on the amount of users on the site.

Hello im really bored(;
Great Article,
I find that the best way to speed up a computer is by defragmenting it.
You can use the Windows Defrag Tool that can speed up your computer by miles, I recently ran it on my five year old Windows XP Machine and now it flys!
Saves you money as you don’t have to buy a new computer.
